Miami Drinking: Monty's Raw Bar

Dan and I can't resist a good happy hour, and we found a great one when we discovered Monty's Raw Bar in South Beach (they also have a location in Key West). Rum Runners and other drinks are 2-for-1 from 5-8 p.m. on weekdays at this unpretenious pool-side bar. (Rumor has it that some over-zealous happy-hour drinkers sometimes make their way into the pool, but we never saw that happen.) They also have a buffet of clams, oysters, stone crabs, and shrimp at great prices (.25-$1 a piece). Sure, you have to get up from the picnic tables around the pool to get your seafood, but it's tough to complain with prices like that. Monty's Raw Bar has a great laid-back vibe in stark contrast to some of the more "sceney" places that dominate South Beach, so it's a great alternative and refreshingly easy on the wallet.
